Do crystals work?

do crystals work?

Have you ever wondered what crystals do? What stone is for what? How to choose a crystal? How should you care for gems? Should crystals be cleansed in the sun? Moon? Seawater? Pure water? Alkaline water? Moon water? I get all sorts of questions like these, along with the side-splitting, hilarious "Do you have a tinfoil hat too?" *rolls eyes*.  Well, wonder no more! In pondering this week's blog, I've decided to start chipping away at the most common questions I get. Let us begin with no; I don't own a tinfoil hat, but if I find one as cute as the pic above, I will be sure to inform the haters toot sweet!.

Now that's out of the way.

"For me, crystals are the idea planters,
the wake-up calls, the icebreakers, the catalysts, the motivational energies and the support crew. They are the beautiful physical reminders of what we want to achieve within us if we are willing to do the work."

Do crystals work?

Well, that all depends on the context of the (slightly loaded) question. Do I believe crystals can play a part in how we feel, think and behave? Well, yes! I wouldn't be doing this otherwise! But, do I believe that by simply picking up a carnelian, you will magically be strong and confident? No. Just as you wouldn't expect to be healthy from eating only apples for the rest of your life. I believe it takes a combination of things to reach our desired outcomes. I will never claim any gemstone to be a cure-all for any ailment - mental, physical, emotional or spiritual. I see way too many of these claims made and, not only is it dangerous, but it can take advantage of people who are feeling unbalanced and vulnerable. It is not how I roll. For me, crystals are the idea planters, the wake-up calls, the icebreakers, the catalysts, the motivational energies and support crew. They are the beautiful physical reminders of what we want to achieve within us if we are willing to do the work.

Aside from all this, there are so many fantastic crystal formations out there with incredible shapes and colours. You can't help but feel good when you admire them. Just like how your favourite pair of jeans can make you feel good, so can slipping on your kick-ass citrine ring. Whatever floats your boat as they say. For some, its jeans, for some, its cars, for some, its gemstones and ain't no one in the wrong here. If crystals make you happy, if they make you feel good, then don't let no "tinfoil hat" comment take that away from you.
